We are a complete driveshaft shop for Stock and Custom,
Steel and Aluminum. We have the ability to supply new or rebuild
everything from PTO Shafts to Heavy Duty Trucks. From 1000 Series thru
1880 Series and now including the new Spicer SPL Series. Automotive
(street rods, classic cars, muscle cars, kit cars, late model performance
cars, custom overdrive transmission conversions, racing cars), Heavy Duty
Truck, 4 X 4, Industrial and Aluminum, the Axle Exchange has your driveshaft
needs covered.
Each
and every driveshaft is built on Axi-Line Equipment. Axi-Line Equipment is
the finest driveshaft equipment available in the world, producing
unsurpassed results in the building of driveshafts
The driveshafts are pressed together and machine welded with Axi-Line
equipment. They are not hand welded, because hand welding has inconsistent
results. The driveshafts are balanced on the Axi-Line Shaft Master II
machine. We balance two piece and three piece driveshafts as an assembly.
Driveshafts including the hanger bearing are balanced as an assembly.
Our
equipment actually lets us mount the hanger bearing on the balancer and spin
the driveshaft with the bearing installed just like on the vehicle. Computer
balancing is accomplished at realistic road speeds — 5,000 RPM.
Important Installation Notice:
The Axle Exchange does not perform driveshaft installation or removal
services. If you require these services, we recommend seeking the
assistance of a qualified mechanic in your area.
Our driveshafts were featured
in
MM&FF magazine. They shaved .3 of a second off of the quarter mile E.T. and
added 2MPH to their quarter mile trap speed by just adding our
aluminum driveshaft and a set of 4.10 rear gears.
Our driveshafts were selected for use in the "Crate Chevelle" by
General Motors Performance Division. This Chevelle has a
GMPP 572 Big Block with 720 HP and ran 10.20 at 128.9 MPH.
It was featured in
Hot Rod
Magazine (October 2008)
Our driveshaft was featured in "Trim The Fat" article in
Car Craft Magazine
(November 2009)
